Support » Plugin: Social Share Icons & Social Share Buttons » Icons in HTML, but not showing

This plugin worked well for a couple of years, but a recent (major?) plugin update has made the icons invisible. The icon code appears in the page source (I’m using the Place manually option, but have tried the widget with the same result), but are not displaying. No errors are thrown in Chrome console. Have tried disabling WP Super Cache and Autoptimize, but no change. I’ve also tried in a different browser.

Thanks in advance for any troubleshooting tips!

  • Thanks for reaching out.

There were no major updates recently.

Do you still have the option checked under question 3 to show the icons via widget or shortcode?

Thanks for the quick reply. Yes, still have Place them manually checked.

What’s the website url where you face the issue?

Thank you. I cannot see the “icon code” you mention on there. Could you please point me to it?

If you look in the source code, this appears in the right place:

Thanks for taking a look. The theme hasn’t changed since it stopped working. Do you have any troubleshooting advice?

The developers investigated and discovered that the size of your icons seems to be set to 0. Please enter a valid icon size under question 6.

Yes, that was it! That wasn’t an option I had changed or chosen to specify—perhaps the default setting was not carried over in an update. Thanks for the great support!
