Icons and arrows on slider missing

Hello everyone,
I have a problem on my site.
I had icons on pages and arrows for sliding left and right on home page. Now those icons and arrows are gone. All there is showing on my scren are some boxes and chinese symbols, depending on what browser I use to open the site.
Can someone please help me?
I found some posts (for example) where someone said that 2 or 3 lines of text needs to be added in “.htaccess” file and problem will be fixed. It didn’t work for me.
Is there anything else I can do before I take down whole site down and start all over?

Hello, it seems font-awesome (the icon library being used) is not present.
In the Admin Dashboard go to Appearance > Editor > Header.php
Add the following code at the bottom of the file.
<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="https://maxcdn.bootstrapcdn.com/font-awesome/4.7.0/css/font-awesome.min.css">I am using https://www.bootstrapcdn.com/fontawesome/ as the CDN in this case.
