    Hi @alwaysenthusiast

    Sorry to hear about that.

Could you pls share a screenshot from your widget setup? Are you configuring ChatGPT – Widget tab or ChatGPT – ChatBot tab?

The plugin has a lot of settings. As I understand the menu option “Settings” it refers to the plugins behaviour when using it to generate content in posts. I don’t use that function. I only use it as a chat bot. For this I go to the menu option “ChatGPT”. There I find five tabs: “Shortcode”, “Widget”, “Chat Bots”, “Logs” and “Settings”. In the tab “Shortcode” I have a chat window where I have not changed any settings. This chat window works fine and I use that as a test that your plugin retrieved the API key. I then go to the tab “Chat Bots” where I created a chat bot. There I choose “Widget” and position bottom left (since one of your competitiors is currently positioned at the bottom right). The settings on this chat bot can’t be displayed in a single screen shot since you toggle between various boxes with different settings. However, none of these settings should make the Chat Bot icon never appear. Is there another place I have missed where you enable the use of Chat Bots?

I made some further testing and found that if I want the chat bot to appear on all pages I should use the chat bot found under the tab “Widget”. If I want to use multiple different chat bots I use the tab “Chat Bots” and then I have to specify the pages I want each chat bot to appear. This was not clear to me from the beginning but now I understand and that works. I now have one remaining problem:

I would like to use a widget appearing on all pages (there are many) except a few pages (perhaps 15-20) where I use another chat bot. This would work well if you added a function to the generic chat bot found on the tab “Widget” where I can enable it but also specify pages where it should not appear. Is this possible?

    Hi @alwaysenthusiast

I’m glad to hear that you made progress and things are more clear now.

You are correct about the “Widget” tab controls the chat bot for the entire site, and the “Chat Bots” tab allows you to specify bots for particular pages.

Regarding your query, unfortunately, the function to exclude specific pages from the generic site-wide bot doesn’t currently exist. The only workaround at the moment is: you’ll have to disable the widget from the “Widget” tab and create a new bot under the “Chat Bots” tab, set to Widget type, with all the page IDs where you want the bot to appear. Each ID must be added manually, as there’s no option to exclude specific IDs.

I completely understand how a feature like the one you suggested would be beneficial, and I’ll check what I can do about it in the future.

Thanks for using my plugin, appreciated.

    Hi,

I probably have around 100 pages so adding them all manually is impractical (and I am also not sure if that input box would accept that amount of information. Another, and perhaps better, idea might be that the generic widget does not appear on pages stated by the widgets created on the tab “Chat Bots”. What I mean a function where the generic chatbot automatically excludes pages where a separate unique chat bot is added. This would automate the process and make it very intuitive. …just an idea… 🙂
