I’m assuming you followed this?

I just went to your site link but what you have to do is make your front page a static front page and not the blog. WordPress has a tutorial on how this is done:
https://codex.wordpress.org/Creating_a_Static_Front_Page
The page you will make and then assign the front page template to it, will then show your icon boxes after following the icon boxes tutorial.
Hmm – made a static page, still no icon boxes.
Sorry, just got back in the door. And the icon boxes are enabled from the Front Page Template tab in the customizer “Show the Icon Boxes Section” ? IF it is checked to show, uncheck it, save it then re-check the box for it.
I’ve tried the check/uncheck trick. I’ve followed the icon tutorial, I’ve got no active plug-ins. Still no icon boxes.

Is your site’s page that is being used for your front home page, set to use the “Front Page” template? I’m referring to the actual page being opened in your editor and in the right side column where the meta box for Page Attributes are for templates.
That did the trick. I don’t think that you mention this in your instructions?
Cheers!
Glad to hear that worked 🙂
As for the tutorial for setting this up, I made a note to update the tutorial with this information as it is important with the various steps involved, and I did not do a thorough job of this, so it’s definitely needing updating.
