# iCalendar Auto-sync PHP8 Issue?

 * Dear Benito,
   iCalendar was syncing reliably every 15 minutes. A couple of days
   ago this has stopped working 🙁Could an upgrade to PHP8 cause this problem? Or
   maybe it is because of an expired license? Any other idea? Thank you so much.

 * Hello,
 * No, PHP8 shouldn’t be an issue (I develop with that version). And the plugin 
   will continue to work correctly after the expiration.
 * Check your server logs and the iCalendar logs. Unfortunately, from here, there
   is not much I can do.
 * Also, be sure that you really have some reservations to import. Open the iCal
   file you’re trying to sync with a text editor and check if you can see some events(
   reservations) that were not imported. The issue may be from the iCal file itself.

 * Thank you very much for your quick reply.
   Did a rollback to PHP7.4 and checked
   the icalendar-logs some time later. It works perfectly again. So probably there
   is a PHP8-incompatibility somewhere.Will search the server error logs as well,
   maybe there is some explanation.

 * I have been searching the logs for a while now and also checked the code with
   codesniffer: I couldn’t find any errors in the iCalendar plugin.
   The manual synchronisation
   for each room also works when PHP8 is activated. It’s the 15-minutes-regularity/
   wp-cronjob which seems to have problems. There is no »Starting Cron job« or »
   Ending Cron job« written in the iCalendar log.If I happen to find any error or
   possible explanation I will message you again. Thank you.BestRoland

 * What seems to have helped:
    1. De- and Reactivating the iCalendar-Plugin
    2. I decreased other WP-cron-events’ frequency using a plugin called WP-Crontrol.
       Maybe there were too many simultaneous cron-events.
