Support » Plugin: WordPress Download Manager » Horrible atrocious support.

  • This would probably the best Download manager available for WordPress if it actually worked as it claims, I have tried several and none have all the options available on this product.

Unfortunately though, having so many options and being a very complex plugin you’ll always run into bugs and issues with it at some point, especially if you use many of the available options, and that’s exactly where the problems begin, so keep reading.

Support for this product is almost none existent, there are only one or two guys in their private forum who answer all the support requests in that private area, to access it you must be a paid customer and even yet, that forum is heavily moderated, tickets are often vanished into thin air and never appear, so you get no support because your request never shows up.

I spent a good 30 minutes creating a support request, making sure I put out all the details along with screenshots and logs, etc, my ticket never passed moderation, never showed up in the support forum, I never got a reply, nothing, nada. zero support.

It has happened to me twice. so I was on my own finding alternate solutions to the bugs I found.

Very sad for a product with so much potential, and if you are reading this Download Manager, please improve your support, your “paid” customers, and your product deserve it.

Update to my original review (Spoiler alert! It gets worse not better):

After a couple of years of use I have completely removed and got rid of this plugin, it kept breaking after every other update, Support is useless and shows very little interest to fix things, then when unable to fix they blame it on you and pretend you are stupid. Please Download Manager I know how Cache works. I have 16+ years of experience working with heavy traffic WordPress sites using lots of plugins, I know how to troubleshoot plugins and cache issues.

Additionally this plugin leaves lots of orphan tables in your databases after you remove it, and you won’t even know they are there while continuing to slow down your site, you will need to remove them manually, using MyPHPAdmin if you know how to, or use a third party plugin to detect them and remove them.

Stay away if you value your time and nerves.

We are extremely sorry for your bad experience. If you posted in forum, probably moderator removed it or spam filter blocked it, we don’t exactly know about it. However, if you posted in forum, sometimes “Akismet” automatically block posts and filter them as spam, in such case, we suggest to mail us at support[at]

@shafayat-alam No, I did not posted in, if you read my review carefully (you obviously did not) I explained how posts in your private access area are under moderation before they show up, so that’s not in

Why is a paid customer area behind a firewall like that? Support requests should be without moderation like in many other paid services I have purchased through the years.

Why would you use Askimet in a support behind/private area? that’s beyond me, I can only imagine how many of your customers have experienced the same thing I have, remember I said, it has happened not once, but twice, so the incidence of the problem is pretty high it seems.
