• Hi,

    As I said I was very dumb, I just finished building my new site but I did not like the way the URL appeared as they all had /wp_admin after the domanin name;

    e.g mysitename.biz/wp_admin/someservice

    My intent was to remove the (wp_admin)and only be left with mysitename.biz/someserive

    So I went to settings >> general and at the section that it says WordPress Address (URL) & Site Address (URL) I deleted the unwanted string in my URL and then clicked ‘save’

    After the page refreshed I saw that the message in big black letter on a plain white screen say “Error establishing a database connection”

    Now I can not login to wp or access any part of it.

    We were able to connect to the database server (which means your username and password is okay) but not able to select the [redacted] database.

    I logged into cpanel and checked and the DB called [redacted] is not showing up anywhere. Where did this DB simply vanish to?

    I also checked wp-config.php and it does reference the user and DB called [redacted].

    I feel like a bell, Ding Dong !! Any suggestions will be appreciated.
