    hello,

First of all, thank you for the plugin.

I have some ideas/requirements that would like to talk about.

1 - The comments module is great, but has an important limitation: it is not possible to post comments to social networks. for instance, if a user is logged in wiht facebook, I would expect the user to be able to check an option near the post button to post to facebook. the same for tweeter... etc.

2 - Also, the sharing buttons has a facebook button, but this button seems to be only a like button. Shouldnt we have also a button to post to facebook?

3 - The post made by the comments button should be ajax in order to avoid a page load in each comment.

4 - It would be nice to have widgets to put tweet and facebook feeds in the site (and set the pages where they should appear). I think the package doesnt have this.

Are any of these in your queue?

    thank you,

    fwu

    sorry,

    I forgot one more thing:

In each comment posted using a social network login, the plugin should put the social network icon near the post, so that would be easily to identify from where the user is.

    thank you!

Hi! Thanks for the review and suggestions!

1 - The comments module is great, but has an important limitation: it is not possible to post comments to social networks. for instance, if a user is logged in wiht facebook, I would expect the user to be able to check an option near the post button to post to facebook. the same for tweeter... etc.

You mean, to post a comment on the post, AND on Facebook simultaneously? But if it goes to Facebook, to what, exactly, would the comment be attached to? Which Facebook post? I'm not entirely clear on what you mean, exactly.

2 - Also, the sharing buttons has a facebook button, but this button seems to be only a like button. Shouldnt we have also a button to post to facebook?

This is the case for the Official Facebook button, but if you use the Unnoficial buttons (Icons only, Text only, or Icon + Text), then it becomes what you describe.

3 - The post made by the comments button should be ajax in order to avoid a page load in each comment.

Thanks for the suggestion, I have opened a Github issue for it here:

    https://github.com/Automattic/jetpack/issues/833

4 - It would be nice to have widgets to put tweet and facebook feeds in the site (and set the pages where they should appear). I think the package doesnt have this.

What exactly do you mean by this? You mean, in the body of a post or page, rather than in a sidebar widget?

In each comment posted using a social network login, the plugin should put the social network icon near the post, so that would be easily to identify from where the user is.

That's not a bad idea, but the actual display of the comments is up to the themes themselves. We could potentially expose the origin of a comment (such as in the comment metadata somehow), which would allow themers to create special custom styles for it. I don't know how feasible this is, so I have created an issue for this here as well, to let the developers chime in:

For this, why not just use the Jetpack Widget Visibility module with the Facebook Like Box and Twitter Timeline widgets that are already included?

    hello,

thank you for all your answers!

    Here it is my reply:

1 - I mean to be able to share user comments in its facebook like this plugin does: http://wordpress.org/plugins/social/. Share in social netword not only posts but also comments.

    2 - ok, nice!

    3 - nice!

4 - George answered part of my questions. Didnt saw that module, sorry. But it seems there isnt a way to show facebook feeds, right? (for instance, last posts in facebook).

5 - This icons became more important since we have the possibility to share comments directly into the social network used to login in in the wordpress site. The social plugin I talked before has this also.

Please note that Im talking about some features in other modules because I rather have an install with the modules I need than to install other modules which sometimes break something in the site, just to get a little functionality. And the jetPack plugin has almost everything needed.

Also, this social module I talked about doesnt seem to be updated anymore and has some bugs :P

    thank you again,

    fwu

    Hi!

For 1, that doesn't seem to be quite what the plguin is doing. From my understanding, it pulls in mentions of a post on Facebook as a "comment" for that post. I think you can use that plugin to do just that, instead of waiting for Jetpack to maybe implement that functionality. We haven't gotten any other requests for this, so we probably won't implement it.

For 4, the Facebook Like box only works for Facebook Pages, not profiles.

For 5, any theme author can use the http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/get_comment_meta function to get the "hc_post_as" meta key on the individual comments, which specifies if it's Twitter or Facebook. Then, they can modify their theme to display an icon, as you suggest. Again though, this would be up to the theme, not Jetpack, as the display of comments is a theme job, not something done by Jetpack.

    hello,

For 1, it does that also. And that I believe I could use the plugin. However, it also post comments on the facebook. Near the post button, where jetpack give the options to be notified by email, that plugin also has the option to post the comment on facebook.

So in facebook you will get an entry saying that the user post the comment (with the comment text) in the following page (a link) and an image of the post. So, it is similar to post on facebook the page post, but instead you are posting the comment. With the other plugin you can then get the comments to that comment in facebook to wordpress, but that is another functionality. Which is great also.

    thank you,

    fwu
