I want to use my username to post blog posts, is this advisable

    I only intend to post blog posts with a one word name (the name of the website), and so I am wandering can I just use my username??

    Is this common amongst admin-bloggers to post using their username rather than any chosen name they might pick??

    The reason I ask is because I do not know what username I would pick other than the one I intend to post with. The only possible reason people might not do this is for the added security of not showing your username.

    Under Your profile, choose Display name publicly as. It can be different than your username. Usualy, that will be the name that people see (as post author or comment author).

    Yes i know this. I am wandering are there any disadvantages to using your username as the publicly displayed name you use to post with??

    Well, i hope your username is not admin 😉 That way the hackers are half way in and they just need to crack the pasword. Sounds a bit paranoid but , hey, we have to deal with all sorts of security issues nowadays. I would suggest to open a new account (with role author) and write your posts using the new account. U can still use your old acc for admin purposes. Sounds reasonable?

    My username wont be “admin”. But that is my point; my username will be what i post with and therefore will be public for all the hackers to see. However of course just because what i post with is public doesn’t indicate that it is the administrator username (so the hackers would have to assume/guess that the public name is the username).

    I am in the beginning stages of starting my blog, so I can easily delete/create usernames at this stage.

    I was thinking about having two separate user accounts; one as an author and the other as admin. However i am a bit torn for the reason i made in my first paragraph of this post, and for the sake of simplicity I just want one single administrator username that i use to post with.
