  • do you also want to stretch the post to full width, like this one: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/full-width-posts-with-post-meta-at-the-bottom/ ?

if not, please post details of your layout idea.

    Hi Michael,

I came here searching for the same topic. I tried your CSS code and it successfully stretched my posts to full-width, but I still see the Author Name and Date underneath the post.

How can I remove this and prevent any gaps from being left?

    Thanks!

Could somebody please answer my question above?

    Thanks!

    @rolldantide
    are you using Twenty Sixteen?
have you made any other edits toi the theme?
could you post a link to your site?
this would allow to double-check your CSS and to see what elements are still visible.

    Hi Michael,

Yes, I’m using Twenty Sixteen. I’ve only made the changes you suggested to tillo up above…I just need to eliminate the Author Name and Date underneath the posts and any space/gaps that it leaves.

My site is currently in construction mode, but here’s a sample article (password is ‘password’):

    Thanks!

I have the exactly the same problem. I want to be able to use the basic Blog functionality, without having the metadata display or have its absence create unwanted white space.

    Thanks.

Re-reading the train of discussion I should probably specify:

    1. Yes, I am using 2016, and

    2. I have not made any changes to the CSS.

I took a look at the CSS code referenced, and it made sense, but doen’t answer the basic question Rolldantide asked.
