I want my old domain name to point to my WordPress.org site (3 posts)

I have a blog on WordPress.com for which I have purchased the domain name designaware.org through WordPress.com. I don't really have anything on it, I just bought it for future use when I start to display my designs.

Now I have downloaded WordPress.org on OSX through MAMP. I guess this is a localhost (I am really new to this). It's given me a new site on WordPress.org, which I don't mind designing from scratch because there was nothing on my previous one. So my issue is not about importing databases. But I want to use the domain I had bought, http://www.designaware.org to point to this site. How can I do this?

I tried to change the DNS nameserver on my WordPress.com blog but I don't know what to change them to. My Mac gave me only one IP but it asks for two. When I enter the same one in both fields, it says duplicate. Apparently, that's not allowed.

    Please help!!

and since you have purchased domain from wordpress.com and you just want to point your wordpress.com (Blog) to your domain purchased you could do that from your settings > domains and selecting your domain to make it primary

you would only change DNS recrods of your domain to wordpress ones if you had bought the domain from some other hosting agency.

But u cannot point your domain to your localhost
