  • You can use custom menu create a menu item for your category and then add posts to category if you want to see example click on my name to see how I am using categories in my menu.

Thank you for your response but I am confused. Here is what i have currently which does not work.

I have a custom menu that is static. Under the custom menu I have a category. I want to post to ONLY that category so the post does not appear on the home page. I am unable to just post it to the category. Does this make sense.

thanks for your response once again. I do not know anything about code. I am using basic wordpress without using any code to create the format and post. I am not sure what a loop is.

    thanks

Are you using home page as static page or post page.

I am using the Twenty Eleven theme with featured post and post page below. I want almost all of the posts to appear on the home page but a few of them.

If show just a few of them. I think you can featured the posts you want to show on homepage.

Easy..use the sticky post plugin…it’ll allow you not to show the posts you want on the homepage..or any page you want and vice versa..

    Cheers

Might check out the Advanced Category Excluder: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/advanced-category-excluder/

I use it to hide certain categories from appearing on the main page, in search results, from RSS feeds and so on.
