  • Resolved private2016

Just some minutes ago, I tried to update three plugins but mistakenly left the page.

Coming back, my smartphone reload and it displayed maintenance mode.

I reload after 5 minutes and the page started showing “unable to handle this request”

Both my website and my dashboard is displaying same thing. Please gurus, any help???

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @private2016 ,

It seems like the plugin is not updated properly if you have any other way to access the file structure like FTP or through the hosting server. Then you can manually download the plugin and upload that plugin in the plugins directory.

To update the plugin manually check the doc:

Let me know if this method is fixing the issue or not.

Using FTP or your control panel rename the main ‘plugins’ directory by adding 1234 to the directory name.

That should get you back to where you can log in but all your plugins will be off. If you remember the names of the individual plugins you were updating you can now change those individual plugin’s directories by adding 1234 to them and then changing the main plugins directory back to ‘plugins’. That will bring your plugins back on.

there’s an off chance you will be seeing a maintenance mode page when your site starts working. Here’s a discussion on that and a fix.

From here you might need to delete the disabled plugins but first see if you can turn them on by removing the 1234 added to those plugin’s names as only one of them probably failed the update.

Your settings for those plugins will probably be okay but do double check them. It will be a toss up on the one that caused the problem.

Thanks for both replies but I find it difficult to try any.

So I deleted the folders of the wrongly updated plugin from my File Manager using CPanel and reinstall them.

Now, my site is working again.

    Hi @private2016 ,

Good to hear that your issue is resolved.

That’s pretty much what I figured you would need to do anyway… just maybe one plugin my way.

    You did fine!
