So I was looking at my page views via google analytics and there are porn sites listed as my page views! Have I been hacked and if so how on earth do I fix this?

  • Do the pages exist on your site? In other words, when you follow one of the links what does the server header show 200 or 404?

It goes to my site with and a page says “oops! That page can’t be found. So I think that’s my 404 page?

It’s called Referrer Spam. Google it if you want to learn more. Your site is not causing this to happen.

try scanning your site for malware etc.:

@tara why should he scan his site when he gets a 404 error? It seems pretty clear to me that it is referrer spam and the links do not exist on the site?

Well just in case I scanned it and there is no malware detected. How do you protect your site from referrer spam? The coding I found was a little over my head. Does anyone know of a good plugin?

Like I said, there is nothing wrong with your site. There is no need for a plugin.

Did you Google for Referrer Spam?

Thank you both I went through and excluded the site on my google analytics. When I was researching referrer spam that was the easiest solution I found. Hopefully this cleans up the mess for now.
