[Resolved] I still see my old website, and not wordpress

I really want to replace my current website with a wordpress site. I am far from a programmer or anything, but I am still hoping that I can manage this. So far, no results 🙁

So I set up wordpress through my host provider. I even added a template that I purchased, and everything seemed smooth. My wordpress site has the same url as my previous site, and the old one still shows up. I cannot figure out how to bring up the wordpress site.

    idabelallen.com

I appreciate any suggestions or advice!

    Many Thanks!

    Hi amyspoint,

The page I am seeing at idabelallen.com appears to be an index.html page which is taking precedence over the WordPress index.php page. You should be able to remove or rename that index.html file and your new WordPress site should then be visible.

The Directory Index and document root can be confusing, here’s a little more information on that:

    Document Root and Directory Index

    Hope this helps!
