I’m trying to use a Custom HTML button to ask for donations. The basic structure is a span open tag to customize the text, then the text, then a close span tag, then the shortcode. ANd when I view it, it shows the shortcode and not a button to donate.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @baseballpoetess,

I’m not sure I understand. This is a plugin for WordPress that give you a shortcode. You put that shortcode on a page or post and it displays a donate button.

Custom HTML is not needed at all to make this work. I took a look at your site, but I am not seeing any donation area / shortcode / html.

    Thanks,
    Scott

The “custom HTML” is the name of the widget. It is found on the widgets page on the dashboard. Is there another widget I should be using to add the donate button to my sidebar? I understand shortcodes–I use them on myfoodweek.com for my recipes and menus. What is happening is that, instead of displaying a button, it displays the shortcode. Let me put it there for you.

The plugin has a widget, you should see that in the list of available widgets.

I am having a similar problem I see the shortcode only, not the PayPal button, however am using the Paypal Donation Button widget from the plugin.
Here is the link to the page http://centreforprojectionart.com.au/donate2/

    Hi @adminbee,

Please double check that the plugin is active and that you are using the correct plugin widget.

    Thanks,
    Scott
