I was trying to change what address accesses my word press (from a sub folder to the main part of the website). I realize now I should have changed the permalinks. but I didn’t. I changed the location, and now my browser can’t find the content OR the login page! It was such a rookie mistake. Can anyone help me, please??
it might help if we have the location of the site. You could reinstall wordpress on the site to make things back to the stock install. That should reset your login page. Make sure you follow all of the directions properly so you don’t loose info on the blog.
curtismchale, we don’t know if it is a fresh installation or an installation with lots of posts. He did mention “permalinks”, which could imply many posts.
A re-install might work, but to avoid losing his current posts, he would have to change his database pointer, and then, import his old database into the new one. But that requires accessing MySQL directly, if his site uses MySQL for the WordPress database.
