It is no use, because I do use “only alphanumeric characters, plus space, underscore, and hyphen”.
My wordpress is built by ixwebhosting’s “EasyApps Collection”
ixwebhosting’s EasyApp allows you to set up popular PHP applications (include wordpress and so on) right from your hosting control panel.
Maybe this problem only occurs on the wordpress built by “easyapps collection”.
Now I install a plutin called “WP No Category Base” to solve this problem
Ok, I see what you said now.
I didn’t mean to name a category “.”.
I just want to set my url of categories without “category”.
I used to put “.” as a category base for my old wordpress blog before, and it worked well. But it doesn’t work for my current blog.
You can name your category base anything you like but as Chip Bennett says use the alphanumeric characters, spaces, hyphens, or underscores in your category base. There are plugins who allow you to change or remove the category base.
