Support » Plugin: Autoptimize » I need to reload page to see latest content

  • Resolved Michael Darmanin

    I am using autoptimize and I notice I need to hit F5 and sometimes Alt+F5 to see latest content. Is there a way for the latest content to load from cache without having to hit F5 every time? Is there some way to tweak Autoptimize so that latest content load when we visit the site?

    The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    autoptimize does not cache content (pages/ HTML) @mdarmanin , only the optimized CSS/ JS. I had a quick look and your pages are served with these headers;

    cache-control: max-age=172800
    expires: Sun, 07 Apr 2019 18:40:14 GMT

    which means they are allowed to be cached by a browser for approx. 2 days, you might want to look into what plugin (or .htaccess line) is doing that?

    Greetings from Belgium,

    I believe that has something to do with this line in .htaccess

    <IfModule mod_expires.c>
    ExpiresActive On
    ExpiresByType image/jpg “access plus 1 month”
    ExpiresByType image/jpeg “access plus 1 month”
    ExpiresByType image/gif “access plus 1 month”
    ExpiresByType image/png “access plus 1 month”
    ExpiresByType text/css “access plus 1 month”
    ExpiresByType application/pdf “access plus 1 month”
    ExpiresByType text/x-javascript “access plus 1 month”
    ExpiresByType application/x-shockwave-flash “access plus 1 month”
    ExpiresByType image/x-icon “access plus 1 year”
    ExpiresDefault "access plus 2 days"

    I now changed it to ExpiresDefault "access plus 5 minutes"

    What would you say?
