Support » Fixing WordPress » I need help with a fatal error that's appeared on my website!

  • Hi there,

I just opened typed in the URL to my website to find this error: Fatal error: Cannot use object of type WP_Object_Cache as array in /homepages/20/d368811699/htdocs/main/wp-includes/cache.php on line 350

I’ve never seen it before, and I’m unable to log into the admin side of things…I manually deleted two plugins in installed recently – All-in-one events and XML map – but this hasn’t solved the problem.

Any help here would be great – I’m not sure what has happened or why and I’m not too savvy on coding, php, etc. to figure this out myself.

    Cheers guys!

  • Have you tried disabling all plugins?
    http://codex.wordpress.org/FAQ_Troubleshooting#How_to_deactivate_all_plugins_when_not_able_to_access_the_administrative_menus.3F

What about using a similar method like above to use the default twenty-ten or twenty-eleven theme? By renaming the folder of the current theme you’re using, once you do that WordPress will use the default theme.

That error is usually caused by a plugin.

Hey Mickey! Cheers for the swift reply! I disabled the plugins and was able to get into the admin area; I also changed the theme to twenty-ten and all seemed fine, but when I changed it back to my old theme, I got this error:

Warning: opendir(/homepages/20/d368811699/htdocs/main/wp-content/themes/Yen/css/skins) [function.opendir]: failed to open dir: No such file or directory in /homepages/20/d368811699/htdocs/main/wp-content/themes/Yen/functions.php on line 91

Warning: readdir(): supplied argument is not a valid Directory resource in /homepages/20/d368811699/htdocs/main/wp-content/themes/Yen/functions.php on line 94

Warning: closedir(): supplied argument is not a valid Directory resource in /homepages/20/d368811699/htdocs/main/wp-content/themes/Yen/functions.php on line 102

And I haven’t a clue what this means!

Hey Mickey – I discovered the offending plugin; thank you so much, all sorted now!
