Support » Fixing WordPress » I need a bit of help with menu item creation

  • Hi there

I am using the NextGen Gallery plug-in with the Hatch theme as I am setting up an image gallery site. Everything checks out as mutually compatible but I just cannot see how to marry up the galleries I have created and populated with images, to my main menu. I browsed the database to find out what path had been set up for one of them (it was wp-content/gallery/nature for my Nature sub-gallery) but when I entered this path as a menu item, it merely produced an ‘Index of…’ (a totally unstyled, plain HTML list of image filenames). I should point out that I am a WordPress newbie, but I do know how to set up menu items for ordinary pages and posts.

    Thanks for your help!

  • Create a Page for your gallery and place the NextGen gallery shortcode in the page. The shortcode will look like this:

    [nggallery id=24]

Put in the id of your own gallery.

Add the Page to your menu and you are done.
