Support » Plugin: UpdraftPlus WordPress Backup Plugin » I lost everything during a restore

I have just done a restore, and now every single plugin on my site has disappeared. I don’t know what’s happened! I think the pages are still there, but I’m not sure.

There was a problem, so I did a restore. And now my website looks fucked… way worse than before the restore.

Please can you help? Why could this have happened? None of the plugins are showing up in WordPress, and everything (including Updraft) is missing.

How do I manually restore everything??

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Restoration process can stall/halt depending upon the total backup size and available server configuration, PHP timeouts can stall/halt the restoration process.

If you are trying to restore all backup sets at once, instead I’ll suggest you to restore each backup set one by one i.e. First restore Plugins > Themes > Uploads > Others and at the end restore the database.

Let us know if above method helps to fix the issue.

    Thanks,
    Harshad

Thanks that is a fantastic tip. I appreciate your support. I will let you know how it goes… 😁

    Hi,

“0000.088 () Error message: Existing unremoved folders from a previous restore exist (please use the “Delete Old Directories” button to delete them before trying again): /home/uvpa65qneneg/public_html/wp-content/updraft/plugins-old
    0000.088 () Restore failed”

There appears to be a file permission issue, meaning UpdraftPlus or WordPress does not have the correct read or write permission to a certain folder or file.

The following article on Smashing Magazine is a good guide as to the file permissions/ownerships that are required for WordPress: https://www.smashingmagazine.com/2014/05/proper-wordpress-filesystem-permissions-ownerships/#file-and-folder-ownership-for-wordpress

    Kind Regards,
    Bryle
