When I go into “Add New”, down the bottom within the upload section I’m getting the following message

    “Choose an image to upload:
The gallery temp directory (gallery-plugin/upload/files) not writeable by your webserver. Please use the standard WP functional to upload the images (media library) “

I’ve chmod 777 gallery-plugin/upload and also chmod 777 gallery-plugin/upload/files and this doesn’t seem to work. My wordpress install is on linuxmint and installed via apt-get.

Any ideas how I can resolve this ?

  • Hi,
Sometimes, hosting providers do not allow to use 777, try to use 775 instead.
But if you installed it on a localhost there shouldn’t be any problems…

    Hello theprad,

Please try to set the 755 rights for all folders till gallery-plugin/upload/files.
If it doesn’t help, please use the standard uploader.

    Kind regards.
