    I have been shot at, shelled in refugee camps, and under assassination threat of four paramilitary groups at one time, but I'm damned if I can figure out how simply to put an image in the header of my blog.

    I'm hoping someone can help me with this pathetic request:

    I need someone to provide simply cut and paste code for a header.php file to integrate with my otherwise minimally tweaked version of the Hemingway theme.

    The image I have is <"http://powerfoundation.org/images/header.jpg"> and in an ideal world it would resize itself according to the size of the browser window, more or less. It should be flush against the top, with the same space between the top of the browser window and the title of the blog that exists now between the bottom of the image and the title of the blog.

    I know it's pathetic of me to ask such a simple thing. I just spend 3hrs searching the net and trying to find php code for this, unsucessfully. I even tried to see the header.php files of other themes, to see if I could simply copy a format.

    I have no clue what I'm doing. That's the sad truth.

    My head is fried because I just finished a 24,000 word paper on US genocide in Iraq.

    I need help. Please.

    The image should appear on all my blog pages. That part of the blog is #000000

    thanks in advance for any kind souls you can bail me out,
    immanence

    my blog is <"http://immanence.powerfoundation.org/">

    Okay, I'm still experimenting. I have managed to get an image on the page (I figured out about putting a line of code in the stylesheet). But two problems: 1) my blog title is hovering over the image; and 2) the image is not centred.

    Can anyone help?

    This is the relevant code in the stylesheet:

    #header{
    	background:#000;
    	background-image:url("http://powerfoundation.org/images/header.jpg");
    	background-repeat:no-repeat;
    }
    #header .inside{
    	padding:3em 0;
    }

    #header h2{
    	font-size:2.25em;
    	margin:0 0.5em 0 0;
    	padding:0 0.5em 0.25em 0;
    	border-right:1px solid #808080;
    	float:left;
    }
    #header h2 a{ text-decoration:none; }

    #header p{
    	padding:1em 0;
    	margin:0;
    	line-height:1em;
    }

    managed it, more or less. "padding", I guess, is one of the principles ......

    background:#000;
    	background-image:url("http://powerfoundation.org/images/header.jpg");
    background-repeat:no-repeat;
    	padding:4em 0;
    }
