I installed, but there are no controls showing

  • monstress

I installed WP on my site, and it show up, but I have only Profile, View Site, and Logout as options. What can I do? I was able to comment, just no admin ability.

  • When you finished install, wp gave you ‘admin’ as the login, and a random password.
Using that will show all controls / options / whatever.
Sounds like you created a new user ?
Do you recall the random password ?

If you have phpmyadmin installed, follow these instructions to manually reset the admin’s password: http://www.tamba2.org.uk/wordpress/phpmyadmin/

I do not have it yet, will check into installing it. What if I cannot? What should I do then?
    and by the way, thanks!

phpMyadmin should be installed by your host (unless you are hosting your site).
The other option is: delete and re-install everything, but write down the password.
