I have used gallery before but now its different

    From the page editor click on Nextgen icon and you’ll see, in new version there are no more short code or, better, short code still exist and you can see it when you create a new gallery and you can copy and paste that if you prefer.
    If you want link gallery to a page, or create a page, you can do it also in Manage gallery.
