Thanks for the suggestions. For the referal to bbP Toolkit (of which I am the author) I can ensure you that new functions will be added to that tool in the next months, but also that I’m working in close collaboration with the bbPress developers and have a list of enhancements that might be added in one of the next versions of bbPress core.

thanks for your suggestions. I will take a look through, and incorporate any that I think would be generally welcomed. It’s always good to have others suggest things they want.
bbpress was always designed to be ‘light’ ie be a base, and let others put extra features around it by use of plugins. I put in my style pack those things that I think a user would want and are not easily available in other plugins.
I give a list of what I think are other useful bbpress plugins in my plugin, so I would not incorporate others unless I can add further value.

I have added the ability to set a featured image per forum which I think achieves this – see item 9 on the forum display tab

Your link comes back as unsafe.
However in the tab ‘topic/reply styling’ item 12 you can set revision to 0, which will not show edits.
