• I have a WordPress Blog that has a host. My host who is also my web designer recently installed my template and gave me instructions on how to edit my image in my sidebar.

She said, “Your About Me image is located here:

Your WP Dashboard==>Appearance==>Editor==>Sidebar.php==>Look under <!–About Information Starts Here –> there you will see an image and link code from photobucket.”

I don’t see that anywhere in the dashboard I’m in. When I click on Appearance, all it say’s is Theme’s, Widgets, Extra’s and Edit CSS. When I click directly on Appearance, it brings up the free templates for WordPress.

I think I’m in the wrong place or I didn’t download something. When I signed up for WordPress. I got a free blog and within a few days I signed up with a host. I haven’t downloaded anything. Is that what I’m missing?

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

  • Ah!

WordPress gives you two options for themes. Default and classic.

If you want more then upload to your host in a new directory. You would do the above in wp_content ->themes. Once tyou have uploaded the themes files and images you can then go to admin -> appearances -> themes and choose your new theme.

Mind you, your with a free host and maybe you must choose one of their themes. You may also not be allowed to touch the CSS till like at wp.com you buy credits.
