I have forgotten password

I set up a new wordpress site through local host. At first I did not have a password and there is no password showing in the wp-config file. However a message came up for me to set a password which I did – BUT – now I have forgotten it. How do I find out what it is or what can I do to reset it. I ask to reset it but then it comes up with a message “cannot find”
