Use WPML. Best translation plugin out there
Yeah I wish wpml could have came to the rescue but have to say compared to qtranslate its not nearly as good. Confusing to use and with advanced custom fields plugin makes extra work so it would be easier to have just duplicate pages for different languages. Might be ok for blogs or text heavy sites.
Build a multisite and use WPML.org, which is anyway the only true and professional solution, even if it is much more effort. Qtranslate was an very good idea and plugin, but the slowly support its not acceptable for serious using.
Sad but true. I tested qtranslate a week now and at first it seemed very promising and found the editor part not working only. The switching worked in frontend and backend, but now even the uninstall leaves headache (those special characters are not fast to delete off of every article and page). This is a one way ticket software with a good approach, even mqtranslate doesn’t work…better luck next time
