• Especially for downloadable products and “products with variations”, if the number of items in stock is set to “1”, the item will be displayed as “out of stock” and cannot be purchased.
    What may be the cause?

  • Hey there, @wilsher! Thanks for contacting us. I’m happy to help you.

I believe your Out of stock threshold is set to 1 instead of zero.

Can you please go to WooCommerce > Settings > Products > Inventory and check that?
If that’s correct, you can set it to 0 and save the changes.

If it is already set to 0, please share a screenshot of what you see there so we can take a look.
Also please share screenshots of the product settings.
I recommend using https://snipboard.io. You can share the direct link to the image as a response to this topic.

    Looking forward to your reply.

    Have a wonderful day!

    Thank you for your reply.

I checked, and the “number that indicates out of stock” is normally “0”.
    Please check the image.

    Do you understand japanese?

    👋 hi there @wilsher

Thank you for reaching back, with further details on this.

I checked, and the “number that indicates out of stock” is normally “0”.
    Please check the image.

The settings showcased in the attached image do not result in an out-of-stock warning, when stock quantity is 1.

Especially for downloadable products and “products with variations”, if the number of items in stock is set to “1”, the item will be displayed as “out of stock” and cannot be purchased.
    What may be the cause?

In order to investigate this further, kindly share the URL of a product where this issue appears, along with screenshots of how its stock is set up.

Linked here is related documentation on how to set up inventory for variable products.

I hope this is helpful! We look forward to your response. In the meantime, please let us know if you have any further questions or concerns.

I would like to avoid publishing the URL in a place where an unspecified number of people can view it.

Is there a place where we can communicate privately?

    Hi @wilsher

This forum doesn’t allow for private communication or asking for login details. If that level of troubleshooting is required, we recommend reaching out to a web developer or one of the Woo Experts.

Speaking in more general terms and without having access to the screenshots or site URL, you’ll want to:

    • Review the Variation Settings: Each variation in a product can have its stock status and stock quantity. Verify that each variation is correctly set with the proper stock amount and status. Sometimes, even if the parent product shows stock, individual variations might be marked as out of stock if their settings are incorrect.
    • Check for a Theme or Plugin Conflict: Occasionally, the theme or plugins might interfere with how stock status is displayed. To check this, temporarily switch to a default theme like Storefront and disable all plugins except WooCommerce. See if the issue persists. If not, enable the plugins one by one to identify the conflicting plugin.
    • Flush the cache: Sometimes, caching plugins or server-side caches can cause outdated stock information to display. Clear all caches, including your browser cache, and check again.

    Hope it helps!
