I have a badly infected installation

  • billdennis6

    @billdennis6

    I run a WordPress Muli Site installation at http://tellpeoria.com.

    For about two weeks visitors have been getting warnings from AVG, Avast and other sites warning about malicious software my site in installing onto their computers.

    I see a message occasionally telling me the site in infected with Blackhole Rootkit.

    I have followed all the instructions for uninstalling it. I have delated all the file using timthumb.php. I have completely upgraded the site to the most recent software, deleting any file not in use.

    I run OpenX ads on my site. I have gone through the site and removed any potentially bad files. Eventually, I stopped running any OpenX ads, going as far as to remove all OpenX ad code.

    I am now running only the Akismet plug in.

    Today, a friend who tried to access the comments on a post got an infected computer and it having to completely reboot his computer.

    I am at a loss for what to do here.

    I am asking for any advice.
