Support » Plugin: CookieYes | GDPR Cookie Consent & Compliance Notice (CCPA Ready) » I had to switch after the update

For a while this was my go to GDPR plugin, but after the big update, I have to register on their site (funny for a GDPR plugin) to use its functionalities and adding scripts is much harder (also requires registration on their site).

So I have searched for alternatives and I have to say, that there are. So I made a switch to another plugin, which stores locally on my site and can easily insert my scripts to be blocked without registration on the plugin author site.

    Hi @awstudio,

    Greetings from CookieYes!

We are providing a free account for all our users which is why registration is required if you want to connect the plugin with the CookieYes web app. It is optional, you can use the plugin without connecting to the web app and do all the configuration manually.
Even in our legacy interface, you have to connect with CookieYes, if you need to scan the site. We understand that some users may have concerns about connecting to the web app, and we want to assure you that this is not a requirement and you can continue using the plugin without it if that is your preference.
