• Hi,
For some obscure reason, I get File renaming error! presented in red box next to the file name after pressing update in single media edit page and also when trying to bulk edit (I’ve checked the files on the left)
I use Basel theme and also WPML, Woocommerce etc.
    The files are JPGs.
    Any idea?
    Cheers!

Yes, I changed the error message but the version is still 2.2.4 (still not ready for distribution).

Do I have to delete old version first (before I install new version)?

Just overwrite the files, I just modified one file so a deletion is not needed.

You can also overwrite only class-media-rename.php because I changed only this one.

    Still same

I uploaded a new test version at http://eurosoftlab.com/lab/pmr.zip, can you update your Phoenix Media Rename files and try again?

I added some other control to validate the renaming process and some better error message, this could help finding the source of the issue.

I download newest version again and now I have error like this?

I’m testing gain, still same error –> File renaming error!

    Is that problem?

    Hi @jhh78,
the error I can see in your screenshot is due to a duplicated install of Phoenix Media Rename: you have uploaded the zip content in a subfolder (pmr) instead of overwriting the file in the phoenix-media-rename folder.

The notices and warning in your last message are not related to Phoenix Media Rename but to various other plugins, the paths and function names doesn’t match PMR.

I just released the version 2.2.5 with more complete error message, let me know if now you get the source of the error in the message.

Now I have very big problem. I lose lots of mywebpictures. I chech my ftp and somethink change my pictere name –> there is now resolution text after my pictures names. What?

It seems that your original file is missing or have been renamed, can you tell me which active theme and plugin are you using?

I’ll create a development server with the same configuration to check for the origin of the issue.

    C.

I use Modern Business Pro-theme, Phoenix Media Rename Version 2.2.5,

    WPML Multilingual CMS 4.4.2 4.4.2 September 9, 2020
    String Translation 3.1.2 3.1.2 September 10, 2020
    Translation Management 2.10.1 2.10.1 September 4, 2020
    Media Translation 2.6.0 2.6.0 September 1, 2020

    1. If I change picture name Media –> Library. Does it matter which language is selected?

    2. And after that I go some finnish page. Can I name the image alt and title texts for each language translation separately (when I’m in that language version)?

    3. Can I name the same image with different names in different language translations?

    Hi @jhh78,
I can’t debug WPML because they don’t support other plugin developers and don’t have a developer version to use for debug and testing.

I added support for WPML some time ago using a temporary licence given by a co-worker but now it is expired, so I don’t know how to test my plugin.

I’ll check to see if some of my friends have a WPML licence that I can use for a couple of weeks to test my plugin.
