I Feel So Lost (5 posts)

I am usually pretty good with all this stuff, but I feel completely lost here.

I have a site on WordPress.com and want add my own theme to it that will fit my site better, so I was told I needed to come here to WordPress.org.

My site is now being hosted by HostGator, so that part of the equation is done.

I am trying to download WordPress, but it will not download on my computer. I cannot get it to finish the download process. Is it necessary that I download something to get my site to work the way I want it to?

I have looked at the tips and suggestions and I simply can't figure it out.

Simply put, what do I need to do, in the simplest terms possible, to get my site to be up on WordPress.org and how do I add my theme so I can be successful.

I know you must get this type of question a lot, but I would appreciate help in as much detail as possible, (the more details I have, the better I am with figuring it out) because I'm obviously not getting it with the information I have seen.

  2. HostGator gives you a one-click WordPress installer. You can learn more about it on their official website at this link: http://support.hostgator.com/articles/specialized-help/technical/wordpress/how-to-install-wordpress

    It's pretty simple :)
