• I am beyond frustrated. I had my site banner up and a new background image. I had a week away where I didn’t look at my site (it’s in progress) and now everything has changed. It took me weeks of learning and messing around with wordpress to get it to the point it was at. I showed it off and it was looking really good, and now suddenly things are changed. My banner is gone – just gone, not even in my media gallery anymore! Same with my background image. And there are large spaces all over the place. I have spent so much time trying to figure everything out without hiring someone and now I am about to give up!!

  • I feel for you. This has definitely happened to me as well! More than a few times. A few questions might help me or someone else help you out.

Can you post a link to your site here?

Are you using the latest version of WordPress?

    What theme are you using?

A few things might have gone awry:

    • How did you add your banner and background image?
    • Did you modify theme files, directly, to make these changes?
    • If so, did you update that theme?
    • Did your host update you installation and/or themes?

    Here is a link 66.147.242.177/~butters9/
The theme is Soliloquy Pro – I purchased it through wordpress.

I created the background as a jpeg in Photoshop – it wasn’t a picture exactly, it was colors, butterflies and stripes to match my logo. I created the banner the same way – using the sizes the theme requires I made a banner with 3 images. It looked great and now it’s just gone for no reason.
I didn’t modify any theme files or update anything.
The changes were there and even when I went to show it off after editing it, After a week off I checked it out and it looks AWFUL!! I have spent money on pro themes(found on wordpress) and for plugins and NONE of them work. I was trying to save money and now I am spending more and getting less.

To clarify can you link where you’re getting these commercial products from? As far as I’m aware WordPress.org only distributes free software.
