I don't like that it only works as a custom post type

    I’m not going to say this plugin didn’t work, because I didn’t get that far. But all I wanted to do was embed a video I already have uploaded into a current post I already have published. This plugin requires you to make a new post as a custom post type “videos” and upload your video there. Not exactly what I was looking for.

    Hi Piercewllford,

    Sorry to hear that you had dissatisfying experience with the plugin.
    However, the plugin does allow for embedding the shortcode with either the uploaded videos or with external videos from youtube and vimeo into any post not just a custom post type.
    It will in fact parse the shortcode from other places, too, like the widget area or header / footer.
    All you need to do is to either grab the shortcode from the created video post or pass the parameters into the shortcode yourself as follows:

    [wpvp_flowplayer src=http://yoursite.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/MyCar.mp4 width=640 height=360 splash=http://yoursite.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/MyCar.jpg]
