There are some more instructions in the “Other Notes” tab:
http://wordpress.org/plugins/tally-graph/other_notes/
I don’t offer free support for the plugin, but if you let me know specifically where and how the instructions lose you I’ll see if I can improve them.
hello
well ive downloaded the plugin and it is activated
i downloaded the zip file, and saved it, (thats all ive done with that)
abit confused with the zip because i have downloaded many plugins and never had a zip involved.
anyway ive made a custom field on my page, nothing happens and im stuck
this is quite advanced and at the moment it seems a lot less hassle to simple use excel and constantly import a new picture of a graph everytime data is updated
i havnt uploaded anything to plugins as there is no option could this be my issue?
just think the instructions need more detail
but then no one else seems to have struggles so maybe its just me
Those installation instructions were meant as a backup. I’ll replace this
Installation should be the same as any WordPress hosted plugin from the Plugins / Add New administration interface, or:
1. Click the download button and save the tally-graph.zip
file.
2. Expand the ZIP file to create the tally-graph
directory.
3. Upload the tally-graph
directory and all the files in it to the
wp-content/plugins
directory on your server.
4. Activate the plugin in the “Plugins” administration tab of WordPress.
with this
Install using any standard plugin installation method.
Those are much more detailed installation instructions and are kept up to date.
It sounds like you got through the Enter Data section but bogged down under Visualize Data. If you can be more specific where those instructions lack detail maybe I can expand the unclear parts.
It’s also possible that this isn’t the tool you need. Do the features in the main description describe what you want? Do the limitations apply to you?
maybe its not ideal for me, it was suggested by someone on a forum
i want a graph showing results using percentages which i can update over time.
i want this graph on a results page as i want full transparency for the readers.
as far as i can tell google charts doesnt let you update the chart day to day so thats no good.
you think you plugin is suitable for me?
It could work, but as the main plugin description says,
WordPress already lets you attach custom data to posts. Tally Graph lets you plot that data over time using the Google Chart API.
If attaching new data to new posts doesn’t seem natural, your excel solution may be better.
It may also be that you’d like more of a point-and-click interface than Tally Graph offers.
ok thanks for your time
i think i will start of the excel way at least until i am up and running and the rest of the site is working
thanks again
