I can't update to 3.8. Not appearing

  • Hi all!!

    I’m on wordpress version 3.7.1 and when i go to updates the 3.8 not appears on my list.

    If i check for new updates wordpress says there are no updates avaliable (i’m on 3.7.1)

    Any suggestions?

  • are you sure you dont have any snippet placed in functions.php that might have turned such notice off?

    I don’t know what snippet is, but the updates works perfect until 3.7.1 version….

    How can i see if ther are any “snippet” on the functions.php?

    These snippets are not added by default. Unless you or someone else has used them, they should not be there.

    It was just a thought, because some people do add theme there amd then forget about it.

    Anyhow, also, check $wp_version in /wp-includes/version.php

    are you saying you did not get update notice for WP?

    Yes, thats correct. I did’n get update notice.

    And if i press de button to search updates it says i have latest version installed.

    that’s really strange.
    Can someone else chime in please?

    I have other WordPress installations and ALL notice me the update, but not in that installation.

    another idea:

    try resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin:

    /wp-conten/plugins.HOLD/

    YES, that works but now i have one question…

    It’s because a plugin don’t work with 3.8 version?

    Would all my plugins work with the 3.8 version if i update it?

    I’m scared if i update and my page is not well after that….

    Seems like one of the plugins is stopping the WP update notification from appearing in the dashboard.

    To find out which one of the plugins is stopping the update notification:

    – first, remove the HOLD from the plugins folder.

    – Then, via your dashboard, try deactivating ALL plugins temporarily If this works, now re-activate them individually (one-by-one) to find the problematic plugin(s).
