• I have installed the theme vivre because I like the nice bold headline font (work-sans) in the screenshot. Unfortunately I can’t select this font face in the theme for posts and pages headlines.
How can I select this font face?
I have not seen this font face in the fonts folder. I develop on local wp.
    Thanks for your help

  • Hello there,

The fonts should be built into the theme.

The fonts can be selected via Appearance > Site Editor > using the font styles on the top right hand corner.

Is that where you’re looking to edit the font there?

    Hi Adam,
    thanks for your fast answer.
This is he font style I want for the headline https://www.screencast.com/t/lkMWIBUfk.
And this is the font style I get when I select the font design “black” https://www.screencast.com/t/oGAyaZJ31sA. When I select the design “extra bold” nothing changes either.
As you can see, I use the page template. The font style is not overwritten by the headline block https://www.screencast.com/t/GaQNciV4bQxO.

    Hello Niko,

    Many thanks for those screengrabs.

I see there’s a full width section – is this being powered by a plugin? I’m wondering if there’s something in plugin overwriting those styles there.

    Hi Adam,
yes, it’s the fullscreen.js plugin. But it’s compatible with Gutenberg, according to the author.
I can open a new wp-installation without this plugin and test it there. I will give you feedback.

    Hi Adam,
I installed the vivre theme on a new wp-installation without any plugins and it does not show the selected font face design. In the theme/template/blocks I changed the default page title from standard to black. Then I created a new page. The font that appears in the browser is wrong.

Hi Niko, while editing the heading font, can you ensure you’ve clicked on the Gear icon and not the half circle one? The half circle applies to the entire site and won’t have as many settings.

Also: it can be tricky to troubleshoot with you when your installation is localhost. It could be a configuration issue for example, but we can’t tell. You could use inspect element to try to spot any errors, but if possible, can you make your test installation live on the web so we can see what you see?

    Hi Supernovia,
I installed the vivre template on the web server. I clicked on the gear icon and changed the Post Title design in the page/post template from default to black. But still the font face doesn’t change in the frontend.

Should I post my login here on the forum?

    Hi,

I’m not able to replicate that on my test site. What’s the theme and WordPress versions that you have installed?

    Thread Starter niko12

    (@niko12)

    Hi,
the theme is vivre. WordPress is 6.0.1. Is there a private way to provide you with the login? I think that’s the fastest method to solve this small issue.

Hi! We won’t log into the site. Having a link helps, though. That page and the test link are both showing the black (heavy) WorkSans font in my current version of Chrome as well as Firefox and Safari.

What happens if you view the site in another browser?

It’s the same wrong font face (or font design) in all browsers. It’s very strange that you seem to see the correct font face “work sans black” and I see the wrong font face in all browsers. Here is the example I posted 6 days ago: https://www.screencast.com/t/YU8SHheH9ei
In this screenshot you see the current font face display (font design) in the browser versus the font face I should see according to my settings in the backend.

I see the same font as @supernovia. Here’s a screenshot:

What browsers have you tried so far?

    Hello there,

That is very strange indeed – what browser are you using there?

    @fotis, @aleone89,
this is my edge browser screen: https://www.screencast.com/t/P8GJ4uQWlD
This is my firefox screen: https://www.screencast.com/t/uQDCGPAqW

I checked it on another computer in chrome, my standard browser in incognito mode. Everything was ok!

The problem must be the hardware. I remember, that when I first installed vivre on my computer (on local ny flywheel) it looked ok. But after I have installed the font on my computer for a powerpoint presentation the problem appeared.

This problem probably is beyond your scope. But if you have an idea how to fix it, your help is very much appreciated.
