    Good morning,
I have been using woocommerce for online sales for a couple of years. However I realized (I don’t know if in conjunction with an update, I now have version 3.9.3) that the complete description of the product is no longer visible. Let me explain: when I insert the products, I can put a short description (which is displayed next to the photos of the product and together with the price etc.) and a more detailed description that is placed further down. This, despite being correctly inserted, is no longer displayed.

In a normal situation I could have recovered with a backup, but a few days ago I changed the site a lot and therefore I am afraid that if I restore the backup of the plugin I will lose the information I have worked on in the last few days.

In the woocommerce settings, under products, I cannot find flags to check to restore the version that I want to display for my products.
Do you have any advice? do I have to go to the theme editor?

    Thanks

The current version of WooCommerce is 4.0.1, so I strongly suggest to update your version first.

Without seeing your site (or knowing what other plugins you have installed), it’s difficult to see what else might be the issue. If you can share a link, and/or include a copy of your site’s System Status Report (you can find it by going to your admin Dashboard and select WooCommerce → Status), it will be a bit easier for us to help out.

Thanks for the message. I have been waiting to update woocommerce because I have a couple of plugins that have not yet been tested with the new version.

this is the System Status Report:

It’s possible that the full product description is not visible on your product pages due to the way your pages are set up with your Avada theme, or the Fusion Page Builder.

The best way to determine if that’s the case is as follows:

    – Temporarily switch your theme back to a default theme, such as Storefront (https://woocommerce.com/products/storefront/)
    – Disable all plugins except for WooCommerce.
    – Clear your browser cache, and the cache on your site if you have one there.
    – Test to see if the issue has been resolved.

If that resolves the issue, then one-by-one you can switch back your theme and re-enable your plugins, testing in between, until the problem appears again. This will then give you an idea if it’s a theme issue, or which plugin is the one causing the conflict.

Since these tests will impact the look and functionality of the site, we strongly recommend using a staging site where you can do your testing.
If you don’t already have a staging site set up, check with your hosting company as many offer this as part of their packages. Otherwise, you can use a free plugin such as WP Staging (https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-staging/) to set one up.
