• Hi, the dashboard of my site is incomplete since this afternoon. I can’t see the plugins, stats nor can I edit any page or post. It is almost as if I am not an admin anymore! It is a personal site, so I am the only user/admin.

My idea is that the problem started when I switched browsers while the yoast plugin was doing a SEO crawl.

When I inspect the page, I find this: ?v=2.0:6 WebSocket connection to ‘wss://public-api.wordpress.com/pinghub/wpcom/me/newest-note-data’ failed: Error during WebSocket handshake: Unexpected response code: 403
I don’t know whether this has to do with my dashboard problem, but I thought I should mention it.

I hope someone can help me with this! And please be patient, I have very limited knowledge of programming!

    Thanks in advance!

This may be a plugin or theme conflict. Please attempt to disable all plugins, and use one of the default (Twenty*) themes. If the problem goes away, enable them one by one to identify the source of your troubles.

If you can install plugins, install “Health Check”: https://wordpress.org/plugins/health-check/ On the troubleshooting tab, you can click the button to disable all plugins and change the theme for you, while you’re still logged in, without affecting normal visitors to your site.

Thanks. As I said, my dashboard is nearly empty, so I cannot disable anything. The theme I’m using is already twenty seventeen. This is how my admin dashboard looks like: The left bar of my page shows the wordpress “W”, the home icon and the name of my site.
Under it there is the icon and name: dashboard
Under it there is the icon and name: jetpack
Under it there is the icon and name: profile
Under it there is an arrow and text: fold menu
The rest of the vertical bar is empty!

On the wide area of the dashboard there are four text blocks visible: one with Site Origin Page Builder News, one with WordPress events and news, one with activities, one with Site Stats, which only shows blocked hacks and spams, no stats.

I just found a way to enter and sort of modify my site by opening my other site which is a wordpress.com site. Then I can switch to this ..org site which is giving me trouble. But then it is in wordpress.com modus, I guess. When I try to adapt the theme I get the message:

You need a higher level of permission.
Sorry, you are not allowed to customize this site.

In the wordpress.com modus I installed the health check. When I open a plugin and click on “Troubleshoot” is says that I have no permission to view the page. The health check plugin does not show up on my dashboard in wordpress.org modus.

    Any more suggestions?

If I know how, I could upload a screenshot to show the problem more clearly. I’ve tried to enter my dashboard through chrome and edge, so in any case it is not related to the browser.

I am really at a loss here… Help!
