Help! I apparently have two different blogs with the same name. I started one and didn’t know that when I got back on that I apparently started another one. I’ve been working on the set of (apparently) the second version of my page and I would access it by loging in on it’s homepage to get to my dashboard. I somehow deleted that widget off my homepage so now I have no where to login. I figured, “no problem I”ll just try http://www.mywebpagename.com/wp-admin.” But, when I login in that way it takes me tothe dashboard of my first page I created which is a whole lot of nothing. I’ve put so much time into that second one and I can’t access it anymore. I have not changed any of my user names or passwords and don’t know what to do.
    Thanks for your time,
    Alikona
if it helps I can leave you with my webpage
    it’s “kissmypassportbyalikona.com”

no, =( it still takes me to the older version of my site! I’m sad, I put so many hours into the other one and I feel like my only option is to start over. This is the one I want to access…

and this is where I keep ending up after I type in my username and password through pages aside from my old login box on my page above.

How many copies of WordPress do you have installed?

Apparently two? I thought only one and that I changed my theme by downloading something new. But I’m showing only the old theme when I login. I don’t know where else I would do a login to get into the new one except, as I mention, the homepage login that I geniusly deleted. lol.

    Apparently two?

You need to check this by using FTP (or whatever file management application your host provides). I would have thought that you would have remembered if you had installed WordPress a second time or not. Downloading & activating a new theme won’t spawn another WordPress install.

Are you sure that you don’t just have 1 install and a new theme that either isn’t active or that is broken?

hmmm ya know what? The only thing I can think of is that when I first started my dash board I changed my user name and password from admin and the number code I got from my intital email to my name and a password. I started my page and logged off. Then I think I went back on and logged in with admin and my new current password and got on again and started my new theme etc., etc. So maybe I do have two versions. However, if I go to wordpress to log in it doesn’t recognize the admin+new password. only the new id (my name) and new password. Strange, huh?

I went into my ftp, but this is all foreign to me. It looks like I may have two. word pressI may have clicked it twice and maybe I did create 2 different versions , either way once I am looking in the ftp, I don’t know what I a doing execpted scrolling around

How many wp-content folders do you have?

good question. I wouldn’t even know where to find out. But, ya know I just gave up and restarted another page….anyway I can delete the other one or I still need to figure out how to log into that one to delete it? Arg!lol =)
    Thank youuuuu!

The easiest way to determine if you have “Two” installations of WordPress is… Do you run the install.php twice? Did you create “Two databases”?

Next, if you are running “Multisite” login to the one you can get into, then, from the admin dashboard you will see “My Sites” you will need to go there and “visit” each dashboard to make the corrections… e.g. reactivate the plugin… and if you deleted it, reinstall it and, reactivate it… let me know…

I thought I only had one installation. In my email there is only verification once and that one takes me to the version I can’t login to. http://www.kissmypassportbyalikona.com/wordpress then if I put the same web address, but with /wp-admin and login in with my only id and password it directs me to a totally different version which is what I have been now working to update since I can’t get into the last one. So, to answer your question I still don’t know. I went to my dashboard and I dont’ see anything with “my sites,” but it is possible that I am blind. Where would I find that? Sorry I suck! =-/

    http://kissmypassportbyalikona.com/wordpress/wp-login.php

    and

    http://kissmypassportbyalikona.com/wp-login.php

Both work so, somehow you two installs

http://kissmypassportbyalikona.com/wp-admin/install.php states WordPress is already installed as does,

    http://kissmypassportbyalikona.com/wordpress/wp-admin/install.php

    Who installed this?

    Look at sites http://kissmypassportbyalikona.com/wordpress/

    and

    http://kissmypassportbyalikona.com/

Then tell us which site you want to keep live… this is a really easy fix… normally, WordPress is installed in the root directory (the one without the /wordpress/) in the url…

Anyway, it is easy enough to straighten out…

Go to this folder/file http://kissmypassportbyalikona.com/wordpress/wp-config.php and then, this folder/file
    http://kissmypassportbyalikona.com/wp-config.php

And see if there are two separate databses in use…

    Good luck!!

    P.S. I left a comment at http://kissmypassportbyalikona.com/wordpress/2011/04/25/alikona-the-curious-adventurer/#comment-2

I have a similar problem. This is my old WordPress but the hotmail attached to it apparently isn’t valid anymore…. I KNOW that’s how that wordpress existed in the first place…but it doesnt’t work. I even re-registered and i still can’t login here
