I can't get started!

I’m hardly a newbie, but I just can’t get started with this. The woeful documentation doesn’t enable me to get a simple gallery uploaded and displayed, and I don’t really want a hobby. The worst documentation seems to be making a good project utterly unusable. I evaluated previously about 6 months ago, and the documentation wasn’t finished then. And it isn’t finished now. So I’m off. Again.
