    Hey @eaglewingmdwp,

You’re in luck because you can find your account info with your API Key using Mailchimps api playground.

If you’re looking at the page in Easy Forms where you enter the api key right click on the input box and choose “Inspect” or “Inspect Element” (If you don’t see that Google how to turn on developer tools for whatever browser your’re using)

Once you have that up you should see the following:

    <input autocomplete="off" type="password" value="API KEY WILL BE HERE" placeholder="Mailchimp API Key" name="yikes-mc-api-key" id="yikes-mc-api-key" class="settings-page-input">

If you look at the value="" for that input you’ll see your API key and you’ll be able to use it in the playground.

Now, go to this link and enter your api key into the field.

    https://us1.api.mailchimp.com/playground/

Once you do that click account details and you’ll see your information!

    Cheers,
    Freddie

I should note that if you’re not in the US you might have a different url for the playground but if you just Google Mailchimp API Playground it will show up for you!

    Freddie,
You are a lifesaver. The API does go back to the account I thought it did but the Yikes EasyForm is not putting the names into the mailchimp list. Any idea why not?

    Hey @eaglewingmdwp,

I’m glad you were able to find your account details have you checked out our support articles to make sure you’re set up correctly?

Did you create a list in Mailchimp and then associate that list with the form you’re using in Easy Forms?

    – Freddie

Well I thought when I put in the API number that I got from Mailchimp that the form would be linked. Yes I am aware of the articles, and I think I have followed them through to the end. I didn’t see anything in the articles you sent me that indicates what else I should do.

    Hello @eaglewingmdwp,

Can you please look at this article and see if you’re experiencing any of the errors listed there: https://yikesplugins.com/support/knowledge-base/are-you-being-blocked-by-mailchimp/

From what you’re describing your site’s IP address may be blocked.

    Thank you,
    -Tracy

Thanks for hanging in there with me. Not sure what I am doing wrong. Attaching a PDF of Screen shots. I am green in Easy form but adding someone there does not show up in Mailchimp.

When you click on Opt-In forms what do you see there?

    Forms

    I see my form.
Do I need to add something to the form to cause it to sync?

    Hi @eaglewingmdwp

I’m sorry, but I’m having a hard time understanding what the exact issue you are having is.

Do you see the Form Builder, but not any of your fields?
If there is any way you could send us a screen shot that would be a big help.

    Thank you,
    -Tracy

    @eaglewingmdwp,

You could use Imgur if you’d like to post images. Just click the “Copy Link” button in the upper right hand corner of the uploaded image and post it here.

Also, I noticed from the photo above you’re using Mailchimp for WordPress as well. That plugin is pretty similar to Easy Forms so I would deactivate that if you’re not using it already to avoid confusion.

Make sure that you’ve done the following:

    – Created a mailing list or audience in Mailchimp
    – Login to Mailchimp
    – Go to your audience
    – Under the Settings dropdown chose:
    – Audience fields and *|MERGE|* tags
    – Do you have fields here? If not, add some fields in (first name last name etc.)
    – Now go back into Easy Forms
    – Go into your optin form
    – Under Associated List Settings
    – Press Clear Mailchimp API Cache
    – Now make sure the list selected is the same list in Mailchimp
    – Using the Form Builder below add those merge tags you created to your form.
    – Save your form
    – Look at the Shortcode in the upper right hand metabox
    – You can use this to place your form anywhere in the site you’d like.
    – If you’re using Gutenberg, just look for the Optin Form block which is located in the Easy Forms Category in your Editor.

Let me know if that clears things up for you!

    – Freddie
