• Hi,

My site has canonical errors and I tried the fix to change the WordPress address to change the grayed out on the site settings page. My site is in a subfolder and I have never experienced this before.

I made the changes in wp_config as suggested in other threads to siteurl & Home fields, and it made my website lose the theme all together. While the site settings were no longer grayed out and reflecting the correct url, the website had zero theme.

I’ve looked at my other sites to see if the problem was a .htaccess or index.php, etc. Everything is exactly the same… even the hosts. I’m really confused.

    Thanks for any help,

    L

    Hi laliz,

I did make the recommended changes to my wp_config. Unfortunately when I did it made my site lose the theme. I was wondering if there is a way around that.

My .htaccess is directed to the folder where the site is installed so I’m confused as to why the wp_config when changed to the site url loses the theme.

    Thanks,

what you meant by Loses theme?

doesnt the activated theme appear under Appearance -> themes? you can reselect your theme from there

    Hi Ializ,

The theme is selected on the backend but on the front side it goes entirely white and has no style or formatting just rows of the content. it looks just like a page does when you use Firefox and view > page style > no style. The only difference is that the page is also missing the images.

    It’s really weird.

Am I allowed to put a link in a comment? If I can, I can screenshot what is going on and my settings and put it on my Dropbox. I don’t want to break any forum rules.

Links to images are perfectly alright and you won’t be breaking any rules. 😉
