    I use the Gridiculous theme
I keep trying to edit my menus. I have tried moving them to the right place and saving, they move back to where they were. I have tried using the move up/down, under whatever buttons, and then save, they move back to where they were.
It’s driving me mad, I need sub menus, not a great big long menu bar.
I have always been able to do it in the past, so why not now?

  • This might not be it, but is it possible the menu you’re editing isn’t the menu assigned to the primary menu slot? Based on the id of the menu container it looks like the menu ‘2014 season’ is applied to that slot at the moment.

    Hi
unfortunately this is the correct menu.
I move the menu titles to where I want them, press save, but they always return to where they were originally!
I need to have some of my things as sub menus, but they just won’t go.
I have always been able to do it before (although I havent done it for a couple of months), so I know what to do, it just doesnt want to play ball.
Any suggestions from anyone would be gratefully received

Ah ok figured it was worth asking just in case. I don’t know if you have many plugins installed, but it might be worth disabling them temporarily to see if that helps, especially if you’ve added any since the last time you were able to update the menu.

Hi, Carri! If nothing else is working for you consider switching back to one of the original WordPress themes for a moment. Try moving things around and see if that works. I would suggest switching to the 2013 theme because it is most similar to your site.

If this works, go see if there is an updated version of your theme out there.

Let me know how it works out.

I’m far from an expert, but this worked for me….on May 27, 2014
I went into Appearance > Menus. At the top of the menu page, there are two tabs, “Edit Menus” and “Manage Locations.” I clicked on the “Manage Locations” tab. Since I wanted to change my Header Menu, I clicked on the “Header Menu” drop down box, found the menu I wanted. Then I clicked on “Save Changes.” Just to check it, I changed the order of my menu structure and it was changed.
It worked for me. Hopefully, it’ll work for you.

I have deleted all my other menus, so I can only be on that one. Still can’t change the order of the sub menus!

Tried deactivating all my plugins. Didn’t work. I just want the Audience reaction, and 2013/14 Season to move to be a sub menu under archive

Is this issue specific to your theme?

Really glad to hear it’s working. If I may ask: What browser were you using before? It may be useful information for anyone else who has the same problem and finds this thread in the future.

    thanks again

    Hello,
    I have the same issue.

WordPress 3.9.1. Cannot move menu to organize items.
I tried it under Safari, Firefox and Chrome on OSX 01.7.5, on my iPhone…
The moving cursor (showed as a crossed arrows) just selects the name of the menu.

    Anyone solved that issue?
