I can't download update 4.0 or install themes I get SSL error

    I’ve just freshly installed WP on my website and it’s impossible to update to 4.0 or to install new Themes because I get this error:
    Download failed.: SSL certificate problem: unable to get local issuer certificate

    I already talked to the support department on my hosting service (aplus.net) and they say it’s a WP error.

    Please help!!

    Great – since this thread is 6 months old and 4.0 is no longer the current version of WP, and because this thread is quite a convoluted mess, now closing it. Anyone who still needs help, please start your own new thread so someone can help with YOUR situation.
