I cannot tell if it installed correctly

I am using SlidingDoor on WordPress 4.5.1, and after activating the plugin I see no changes in my Dashboard. I also see no screenshots on https://wordpress.org/plugins/sewn-in-xml-sitemap/screenshots/ that would show me where I access the plugin from Dashboard. I checked my site for possible Sitemap files (http://www.russian-detective.com/sitemap.xml), and the XML page was not created.

How can I tell if the plugin installed correctly? How do I access the settings?
